In honor of my upcoming birthday, I decided to share some things about me that you may not have known. If you want pictures of food, proceed to this post.
25 Things About Me:
1. I've never broken a bone.
2. I have a scar on my arm from the time I was attacked by a pitbull and had to get stitches. I was at a family friend's house when their dog freaked out from all the company and bit whoever was in sight. They kept in out in the shed for the rest of my visit but he got out once and came to where I was sitting and put his head in my lap. I found that to be his apology and didn't hold anything against him.
3. I've never been stung by a bee.
4. I have no known allergies, except I do have a sensitivity to soy and bananas.
5. I was named after Julia Robert's character Shelby in the movie Steel Magnolias. A favorite movie of mine.
6. I've never been able to relate to kids my age. When I was little I would sit with the grown-ups and join in on their conversation instead of playing with the other kids.
7. My hair was literally white blonde when I was a kiddo, then it just had to turn a dishwater blonde color...I was so upset. Thank god for highlights!
8. I was a redhead for a while when a member of the family passed away. She had dark auburn hair and so I dyed my hair in honor of her. It took a while to get blonde back, but it was fun experimenting.
9. Ever since I was little, I've been stealing my mom's high heels out of her closet. I've been able to strut my stuff since I was 5 and it baffles me seeing girls who can't walk in heels! I guess that started my shoe obsession.
10. I was obsessed with the Spice Girls. I would sing their songs nonstop and I was ALWAYS Baby Spice.
11. For Halloween one year I dressed up as Cher. My grandma totally got me into her music so I had the long black wig and everything.
12. I went to see Titanic with my mom 3 times in the theater. It is still my favorite movie of all time.
13. Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I couldn't tell you my favorite book because there are so many!
14. The only reason I was a cheerleader is because I was horrible at all other sports.
15. My favorite kind of music and anything I can dance to. I also listen to lyrics. The singer might not be amazing but if I can relate the the lyrics I'll listen to it.
16. I go grocery shopping just for fun, sometimes I don't even need anything!
17. Even though I love traveling, I've only been to California, Arizona, Colorado, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Missouri, Florida, South Carolina, and Mexico.
18. I desperately want to travel to Italy and the Galapagos Islands.
19. You don't want to be in the car with me when driving. Not because I'm a bad driver, I'm actually really good, but because of how much screaming I do at the horrible drivers around me
20. I was homeschooled 3rd-6th grade. Again in 8th, then for half of 10th because I was so sick.
21. I've never gotten a grade below a "C" before...except for gym. Why is Illinois the only state with a mandatory Gym program?! Not fair!
22. I don't want any kids. I have 5 brothers...there is a 50/50 chance it will be a boy. I'm not taking that chance.
23. My first kiss would have been perfect...I was in Hilton Head with my best friend, we met cute boys, on the 4th of July, under the stars,on the beach...but I had to literally WIPE MY CHIN afterwards. Sick.
24. Without the sun I don't know how I would live. Winter is the most depressing time ever and I look forward to summer from the moment it ends. That's why...
25. I plan on moving out to California to go to college. I haven't decided on one yet, but I'm working on it.
Hope you enjoyed those awesomely random facts about me! =)

Loved this post Shelby. Loved Steel Magnolias. Love sunshine. Love Italy. Love you. Hated gym class. :)
And now I know :-D
We have a lot in common :) I was white blonde when I was young, then blonde, then dirty blonde, and now i'm brown - but it turns red sometimes in the sun. And I was homeschooled until 6th grade :) I also yell at drivers.
I had no idea you had 5 brothers!! Wow. I only have 1 (and a sister). That's enough for me.
Happy Almost Birthday :):)
I love your fun facts!! I can't imagine how scary it must have been to be attacked by a dog! I got chased by one once and I was TERRIFIED!!
I saw Titanic so many times in the theaters too, I still love it and watch it every time I see it on TV!
Hahaha my first kiss was just like that. I turned to my friend and said I wish I had a napkin. :P gross.
aw i love this post shelbs! your first kiss sounds like something straight out of a movie :) minus the slobber ;)
my hair was a lot lighter when i was little too. i have dirty blonde hair now. also about hair, i went through a red period too! but it wasn't in honor of anybody, it was just an experiment. and it's needless to say this next one, but i go grocery shopping even when i don't need stuff too! i spend way too much money on food. i'm currently trying to stick to a weekly budget.
i could comment on a lot of your other points too, but i'm working at cutting down on the rambling. haha. love you, girl! and i enjoyed hearing these little facts about you. :)
loved this! you are too cute/amazing :)
Aw great random facts about Miss Shelbz :)
I've never dyed my hair at all! You are quite the chameleon when it comes to changing up your color.
Thanks for sharing loveeee.
Hey!
I'm new to blogging, but not new to your blog! I've been a bit of a sketchball (haha) just reading and not commenting but NOW I'M READY TO JOIN IN THE FUN! I thought this was a good post to chime in because I know all about going to Cali for college! I'm also from the midwest (Michigan...), and I go to Pomona College in SoCal. What schools are you looking at? I can definitely relate!

baaa that was the wrong account. sorry.
Yes ma'am, I did enjoy. :)
I'm still thinking about the wet chin, though...ew ew ew!
love the cool facts!!!
wipe your chin huh? hahahaha...now that, is priceless.
AHHHH!
Are we twins? Seriously! I LOVE to read too and I was always SPORTY SPICE! Your first kiss sounds like it had a tragic ending - great stor though ;)
Steel Magnolias was my mom, sister and my favorite movie for years! We still say, "Pink is our signature color!" This post was such a fun get-to-know-Shelby post :)
Yes yes yes! Come to california!!! Although I don't go to college here, half my friends do so I know a lottt about all of the schools!
And I think all of us food bloggers LOVEEE to grocery shop, whether in need of food or not!! It's an addiction! ;)
i LOVE LOVE findoing out information about people :) I think i forget how people have lifes and hobbies out of the blog (weird i kno) so it was rlee nice knowing somethings about u :)
xxx
You are totally the Baby Spice of the blog world. I get to be POSH!!!!
Happy almost birthday!
Steel Magnolias AND Titanic are both awesome films. and I've never broken a bone either. Go us!
I've been stung by a wasp but never a bee. Wasps are a hazard when taking clothes off the washing line - I always look and check they're not hiding before I unpeg things now.
oh my gosh, I loved the spice girls too. I was obsessed as a kid! haha
The Galapagos Islands are the most incredible living museum of evoltionary changes, with a huge variety of exotic species and landscapes not seen anywhere else.
You and I have a lot in common Shelby! I can't stop laughing at your comment about Gym. When I was in high school I DREADED gym class (it was mandatory too) and it was the only class I ever got poor grades in. haha
loved learning about you! i saw titanic 2 days in a row when it first came out. :) your first kiss story made me laugh! i'm pretty sure you're not alone in the slobber (i can relate haha).
Awesomely great facts! Poor you with the pit bull--I wouldn't have been so forgiving, I think. And I, too, am a sun lover! Maybe we'll meet in CA ;)
Oh my goodness, forgot to say HAVE A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :)
the spice girls will and forever be my favorite girl band :)
Good post! =] I've been keeping up with your blog for a while but I think this is the first time I commented. I think we have some things in common, but there are still differences, haha. Happy birthday! XD
hahahhaha this is AWESOME shelby...that kiss story is priceless- and disgusting.
I can't wait to hear your school choices, or at least where u visit!! SO cal SO cal :D Great weather and i know u love your sun!!!
Come join me for college in CA :)
A couple of thoughts on your list... I can relate to:
6. I've never been able to relate to kids my age either and always would find adults to talk to!
7. My hair was white blonde too, but turned into a darker blonde (golden/strawberry blonde later.. and now my roots are pretty dark, but the rest of my hair isn't as dark... go figure!).
16. I'm pretty much a grocery shopping addict at this point! lol
19. I'm a really good driver too, but sometimes I get so furious behind the wheel! I can go nuts! lol
22. I don't want kids either! For different reasons, but none the less...
25. I moved out to California for modeling, not school. But I don't like the sun, and I'm from New York, so I didn't do too well out there! lol
I've never broken a bone or been stung by a bee either, and I'm turning 30! LOL.
And you totally need to get to the Galapagos - I went last year, and it was beyond amazing. If you want to see the photos, you can check out my flickr pages: Ecuador & Galapagos
