17th Birthday: Part 2

Thank you all so much (again!) for the birthday wishes!!! I wish I could hug every single one of you. You have brought me such joy and really made this one a special birthday. Now I do have some bad news: the exciting surprise will have to wait until tomorrow. I didn't have time to put it together today since I had to work, but tomorrow is the day, I promise!

Continuing with yesterday...
After I had my birthday "cake", my mom wanted her birthday treats! I made her Whoopie Pies from My Sweet Vegan (a delicious recipe I have made before, she loved it so much she requested them!).
My momma with a little brother. I only put one candle on because I didn't want to start a fire...just kidding! She knows I love her =)

A cookie almost the size of her head!

The birthday girls looking pretty in pink...and yes, I am taller by 3 3/4 inches!

Getting a picture of all of the boys together is a struggle. This is the best we got. Oh and the baby is missing from it too!

Now let's switch gears to review time!
First up: my first Beauty Review! Please excuse the bloodshot eyes, I wasn't on any substances...I swear! Oh and check out that funky eyebrow! I think I hit my head there once so the hairs always separate. I have to wet it down to make it stay put. But enough of that, I will be reviewing Maybelline's Lash Stiletto Mascara in soft black.
Pros: As you can see, this stuff really lengthens your lashes! I love how it separates them too because I usually have to do that manually.
Cons: It doesn't do much in the volume of my lashes. I was expecting them to look thicker and more full but that didn't happen. It also smells horrible and the smell lasts about an hour after I use it. Bleh.
Final Verdict: I wouldn't buy this again, I'm sticking to my Great Lash!
Next I will be reviewing my new Cybershot Camera. This is a picture I took with my old Canon Elph camera. I didn't use any special features or adjust anything. Usually I will change it to macro, adjust the light setting, and have to take pictures over and over because of the blur. Don't get me wrong, its a great camera...just not for food.

This is the same shot but with my new camera. It has a special FOOD FEATURE that when you press one button, it automatically changes to a mode that is specialized for gourmet shots. I love it because I didn't have to pay more than $200 for it and it does such a great job.

Just to throw in some more yummy shots, are some of my eats from today. Breakfast was a Rhubarb Smoothie a la Heather.
-1 cup almond milk
-1/2 cup frozen strawberries
-1/4 cup frozen rhubarb
-1/4 tsp stevia
-1 scoop Jay Robb Vanilla Protein
-1 tbsp Chia Seeds
This tasted like strawberry pie! It was so luscious and sweet. Topped with almond butter, it made the perfect breakfast to fuel me for the day.
Mmm, and dinner was excellent as well. I made up another batch of Oatgurt over the weekend and finally had some today. My favorite part is the crispy crust that forms on the top, so good.
This bowl included Oatgurt, almond milk, almond butter, and shredded coconut. Simple yet decadent and satisfying.

Stay tuned for Part 3 tomorrow, and maybe even a part 4! Maybe I'll just make it a birthday week!

i seriously need to make oatgurt as soon as possible. i can't take seeing the pictures of it any longer! and i think you should stop saying that the order i'm doing the yoga DVDs is the order of your favorites. now i'm not going to want to do the other two because i know they're your least favorites!

by the way, in the picture of you and your mom i can really see a resemblance! and i'm a few inches taller than my mommy too. :)

Those whoopie pies look delicious! And I'm super jealous of your new camera. Mine has been a trusty friend, but it's like your old one - not good for food shots.

Those whoopie pies look fantastic! I've seen a mix in the store for "Pumpkin Whoopie Pies." I bet you could recreate those :)

What a cute pic of you with your mom! I am in the market for a new camera. (I am hoping the Birthday Fairy will bring me one too!) I was concerned that the cybershot didn't have enough zoom. What do you think? Is there anything about the cybershot that would discourage you from reccomending it?

a special button for FOOD SHOTS?! I want that camera!!

OH MY GOSH I'M SUCH AN ASS! Honeybunny, I am so sososososo sorry I missed the actual special day! You know I'm your number one fan, and I cannot believe myself right now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTIFUL! I can see that you ate deliciously and enjoyed the day--all that matters! I can say that 17 is better than 16 and 19. 19 is odd because you feel so in-between, but 17 sounds older than 16, but is still young enough to be bossy and fabulous. I hope that made sense. Anyway, I am just loving these high-raw, all-whole meals you've been whipping up! You are such an inspiration :) Love you, boo! xoxo

Maybelline does animal testing though so its also not a good choice ethinically. try bobby brown, you wont regret it... they're AMAZING and even though its more expensive, it LASTS forever...
Happy Birthday ;)

Sorry I have been such a bad responder lately, apparently my new Virus program hates blogger and Wordpress especially and just let's me have access when "it" chooses too.
