17th Birthday: Part 1

Hey lovies!!! Thank you all so much for the messages, comments, and presents...I think you babes are so amazing and I'm so thankful to have met all of you. I've decided to split this post into 2 parts so you can see my exciting surprise tomorrow and because I have so many pictures I didn't want to make this post a mile long. So here is part 1:

My day started with presents!

I received exactly what I wanted for my birthday...

-A Pink Sony Cybershot Camera

-Living Raw Food Cookbook

-iPod Car Converter

-Transformers DVD

Along with these things, I got birthday cards and love<3

For breakfast I had a Green Monster with...

-frozen pineapple and blueberries

-Sun Warrior Vanilla protein powder

-water

-baby spinach

I loved the pineapple and blueberry combo. It was sweet with a little tang which I loved combined with the vanilla.

And some Avocado Toast. My favorite breakfast at the moment!

Lunch was amazing and filled with some of my favorite foods. It was the Curried Sweet Potato salad I had made in this post, plus 1/2 an avocado. The avocado just added a smooth, creamy flavor that made the curry really pop.

When checking the mail this morning, I saw a little envelope with my name on it...it was a Whole Foods Gift Card from Emma. This was the PERFECT gift girl! I love it, of course! And yes I spent it all today....

From left to right: Dinosaur Kale, Collards, Organic Carrots (1.99 for 2 lbs!), chia seeds, pumpkin seeds (can you guess what I'll be making with these?), Hazelnut Butter, and the 3 new Larabars!

German Chocolate Cake Jocolat, PB&J Larabar, and Tropical Fruit Tart Larabar...hmm, I wonder what I'll try first.

The brand of Hazelnut Butter I got was Futter's Nut Butters. I've ordered from them before and was super impressed! VeggieGirl also loves this brand, which is how I found out about it. I also had a lovely chat with her while shopping, gotta love her!

It was dinnertime when I got home from the store and I wanted my cake!

Wait, that's not cake!

Did you really expect me to have a huge slice of cake? I made Carrot Cake Oatmeal instead!

-1/4 cup oatbran + 2 tbsp rolled oats

-1 cup water + 1/4 cup almond milk

-cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, salt

-1 grated carrot

-1 tsp coconut oil

-Abu "frosting"

-Coconut "sprinkles"

Mmm, this was the best birthday cake EVER!

It was fun being 16, but I can tell 17 is going to be an even better year!
