Happy Father's Day!!!
I don't have a fancy dedication post like most do (which haven't failed to amaze me, there are some great Dads out there!). The truth is, I'm not close with either of my Dads. I no longer talk to my biological father and my step dad (now Dad since he adopted me) and I do not see eye-to-eye on anything. We don't spend time together and we don't talk about anything really important. I guess we just don't click well. While I'm sad I don't have a special post with pictures and memories with him, I'm just happy to have him in my life. He always supports me with everything I do and I'm so thankful for that.
I'm still going strong with the Green Monsters! This one included-1 cup water
-1/2 a mango
-1 scoop Sun Warrior Vanilla Protein
-3 large handfuls baby spinach
With my smoothie, I had some Coconut Rice. To dress it up, I added shredded coconut and Artisana Cacao Bliss on top. It was amazing.
About a half hour before lunch I had some fresh Watermelon! Watermelon has to be my favorite summer fruit. I could eat pounds of it at a time. My family and I always had a Seed Spitting contest to see who could spit their watermelon seeds the farthest haha.
This was literally a Hugh Jass salad! I had to upgrade to a bigger bowl!-butter lettuce
-broccoli slaw
-steamed zucchini
-1/2 an avocado
-Homemade Hummus
-Zukay Sweet Onion Basil dressing
My favorite part about this salad was the avocado. I love how it makes the whole thing so creamy. Mmm.
It was a pain waiting for this all day long but these Crock-pot Pumpkin Oats were so worth it! Topped with a little Pbu, oh gosh this bowl was heaven! It was super creamy and thick, rich in flavor, and the perfect end to my day. Sure, its hot and humid here...but you could always eat it in front of the A/C! ;)You wanted more kitty pictures? Here ya go!

I could not get him to wake up for a picture! Oh well, babies need their sleep =)I had my hair done on Saturday but I really hate the color. Its darker and warmer tone than I normally have. I tried to like it, but its just not me. Hopefully I can can get it fixed without paying another $80! School pictures are Tuesday, eek!

I have always been too scared to color my hair! They should fix it for you. I mean, you don't like it! Aren't they normally understanding about stuff like that? I'm seriously contemplating this whole PBU thing. I'll have to examine it closer on CurlyTop's blog. Oh, and watermelon?! HELLO! I could eat an entire one by myself in one sitting! I think my next kitchen venture will be Heather's, of heather eats almond butter, fermented oats. Scary, but very interesting!

Oh Shelby! Thanks for being honest about the situation with the Daddio(s)! It's true, not everyone has a glorious story, right? Rob doesn't even know his dad; he only knows he got busted for selling drugs and did time in San Quentin. Role model alert! Jk!

Anyways, adorable kitty pictures! Your orange kitten looks a lot like my Peanut, except Peanut is a darker orange I think... either way, they are similar! How old are your kittens? Peanut is 3 months now.

oats in the summer time is perfectly acceptable :) i like mine cool - or otherwise swiss oats! but i love your adventurous side for trying pumpkin oats. your bowl looks delicious! (as does your breakfast)

You're not alone; I haven't had any contact w my natural father since I was 4 or 5 and my stepfather and I had nothing in common and I resented him for monopolizing my mother's time. Not to worry, though. I still have a great life even w/o a dad.

Watermelon is my favorite food, not even fruit! Lol. Its the most refreshing thing to eat in the heat.
Sweet potato and Bloo have gotten so big, they grow to fast. They're very cute!

The kitty pictures made my day! Yippee for little munchkins. Girl I feel you on the daddy day let down. My dad passed away a few years ago and we NEVER had a good relationship. It doesn't make days like yesterday any easier though. I do have a good relationship with my step dad but it took us a while to get close. He moved in with us when I was in high school so it was not fun there for a while. I hope your relationship grows stronger. Give it time :)

Shelby I'm so glad you shared that story about your biological Father and otherwise, you are such an inspiration and a comfort to so many others out there who may be in the same or similar situation as you. You are such a wonderful and lovely person! Not to mention absolutely beautiful!

And only $80 to get your hairs did with colour? Man, I wish it cost that little for me. If I go full out, well, we won't talk about how much that costs. It's a heck of alot more than $80 though, that's for sure!
