It has been snowing NON STOP today. I think it stopped for a half hour but that's it. I'm glad I'm not going outside. What's weird is that it's warmer today than yesterday. I guess snow can't come down when it's below zero because it only snows when it's like in the 20 degree range. I'm glad I went to Target last night to get everything I needed. Which reminds me...I want to sue Target. Every winter I go to Target at least once a week and every single time I get shocked! Like when you touch something and it shocks you from all the static (which is doing wonders for my hair by the way). Well, when I went there I nearly left with permanent damage. I think everything I touched shocked me and I've only noticed this at Target. Winter: 1 Shelby: 0
Another cold day means another bowl of oats! Today's was Coconut Chai Chocolate Oats. I used 1/2 cup oats, 1 cup water, 1/4 cup Soynog, 1 Coconut Chai teabag, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, and 1/2 scoop chocolate protein powder. Amazing! I just bought this tea and it is really really good. It added just a light chai flavor to the oats which were enhanced by the extra spices. I also topped it with blueberries and Shredded Spoonfuls cereal.
After breakfast I cleaned the kitchen a little and caught up on some blogs. Then I went upstairs to watch Monsters Inc. with my little brother. He was a little scared so I volunteered to watch it with him. It's so fun to watch movies I watched as a kid. Especially Pixar movies because they have jokes for adults that I never got until now. When the movie was done I was hungry so I had a Peanut Butter Blisscrisp JamFrakas bar. I love this flavor so I bought a handful of them. A peanut butter rice crispy treat? Yes please!
I know your probably sick of seeing this recipe on my blog but I LOVE the Snobby Joes from V'Con. I made half the recipe so I would have two big servings. I put some lettuce on an ezekiel bun and topped it with a large scoop of Snobby Joe. Baby carrots on the side. Yum yum! Besides the Snobby Joes being delish, the ezekiel buns are amazing! Seriously, they are so doughy and soft...much heartier than a regular hamburger bun. It totally makes the sandwich.
Even though it's freezing outside my room gets really hot so I needed a cool treat after working out in there. I had a frozen WholeSoy & Co yogurt with a dollop of fig spread on top. I froze the yogurt as soon as I got them so it was ready for me when I wanted it. Delish! I love this yogurt and when you freeze it you get a smooth creamy treat. I felt like I was eating ice cream!Dinner was broccoli in marinara sauce. I've been obsessed with broccoli lately!!! I crave it all day long. I could just eat a huge bowl for dinner and be satisfied. Now I'm going to help my mom wrap some presents and finish some chores. Merry Christmas Eve Eve!!! I can't believe how close it is to Christmas!!!

Coconut Chai Chocolate Oats?! Thats quite possibly the best flavor combination in the world. Yum :)
Aw, I love watching old childhood movies...Toy Story was always a classic in my house! Stay warm and enjoy the gift wrapping with your mama <3
I'm totally making Snobby Joes after Christmas! Yay! And I'm with you on the broccoli thing -- it always tastes like the most amazing, delicious, health-giving thing possible.
Mmm...broccoli is my favorite! I keep meaning to buy some soy or coconut yogurt and freeze it...and then I don't. I'm not sure why. But then I always mean to buy soy or coconut ice cream and then don't so...at least I'm not eating that instead, right?
Looks like a day of yummy food! I will have to try the Snobby Joes when I get the book.
Oh, the shocks! That happens to me all day every day, mostly in winter. They happen every time I get up after sitting down even for a few seconds. The first thing I touch will always shock me!
ooo! A peanut butter crispie treat!!! YUMM!
What a great idea to freeze the yogurt!
Merry Christmas!
i totally need to get veganomicon so i can make snobby joes...i'm so jealous of everyone!

Ok sister, you are a whiz at breakfast! I can't think straight before breakfast and coffee, so I go with a good ol' protien shake...not nearly as ideal for winter. You've totally inspired me to make an effort to get off of autopilot for breakfast!
m'mm i never thought to freeze my yogurt! I've got a couple chobanis that I think may like to take a little vaca to mr. freezer - and if they don't then thats too bad because I want them to :)!

I love the snobby joes too. Merry Christmas Shelby!
I constantly get shocked from my locker at work... it sucks! I cringe every time I'm about to hang my coat up because know it's coming. Ugh, it's snowing here too and I have to go shovel TWO driveways now (long story). But first a bowl of oatmeal!
Seems like the snow has been absolutely crazy everywhere! I guess at least we get a white christmas!
And getting shocked at Target every time definitely sucks! You should tell management and maybe they'll give you some special discount to compensate XD
I am trying frozen soy yogurt ASAP!
Merry Christmas :)
